Sexton Single Malt Irish Whiskey

The Sexton Single Malt Irish Whiskey comes to us from the North Coast of Ireland, County Antrim. The name Sexton refers to the person who prepares graves. This person traditionally was the last one to see the deceased before they were laid to rest. The Brand statement declares, "The Sexton Single Malt challenges those to make choices every day that will add up to a life story worth telling." They exemplify this philosophy with their Master Blender, Alex Thomas.

Alex is one of the few women Master Blenders in a traditionally male-dominated industry. She grew up in the small seaside town of Castlerock, along Ireland's North Coast. Her career began as a stock controller for a local timber and builder merchant. This is where her appreciation for high-quality craftsmanship and excellence started. She was always fascinated by the magical liquid her father and grandfather drank and had dreams of one day being involved in its production. They would be so proud to enjoy a dram of The Sexton Single Malt developed by Alex.

The Sexton is 100% malted barley finished in hand-selected European Oak Barrels. These barrels are air-dried for at least 16 months, then charred from the inside to a medium-high level, and finally seasoned with Oloroso Sherry for 2 years before being shipped to the North Coast of Ireland. The Sexton Single Malt Irish Whiskey is rested for 4 years to create a smooth, fresh single malt of memorable character.

The Sexton tastes of rich dried fruits and toasted oak and has a slightly sweet smooth finish. We recommend you enjoy it neat or with a few cubes of ice.
