Maxim Magazine Names Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse Top 10

New Orleans Restaurant Nationally Ranked

NEW ORLEANS, LA – October 25, 2006 – The World’s leading men’s lifestyle magazine, Maxim Magazine has named Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse one of the top ten Steakhouses in the country. The November 2006 issue of Maxim (just hitting newsstands) includes Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse as the only Louisiana restaurant and declares it a French Quarter institution.

“We’re honored to have been selected by such a well-known publication. Maxim acknowledges that there are many great steakhouses in the country but they identify us as one of the 10 best,” commented Dickie Brennan. “Everything that we can do as a city to garner positive national attention is a step in the right direction, this accolade is an honor for our restaurants and New Orleans. After being named by Playboy as a Top Steakhouse, we saw guests dining with us from around the Country; it drew people to New Orleans. This new honor couldn’t come at a better time for us and our city,” added managing partner, Steve Pettus.

The article mentions that the restaurant required reconstruction after Hurricane Katrina, but declares that “their 16-ounce strip hot off a cast-iron skillet is back!” Before re-opening in April of 2006, everything downstairs had to be replaced (except for the ceiling millwork). Guests though have to look closely to find changes to the restaurant interior or its menu. Under the steady leadership of Chef Jack Martinez, signature favorites like the Tomato-Bleu Cheese Napoleon, classic New Orleans Turtle Soup and the ever popular House Filet (with creamed spinach and Pontalba potatoes, topped with masa flash fried oysters and finished with béarnaise) draw discerning diners time after time.

An expanded lunch menu has been created to offer guests a greater breadth of choices including PRIME RIB DEBRIS (slow roasted prime rib layered with roasted mushrooms, bleu cheese mashed potatoes and grilled peppers, touched with a sweet garlic demi-glace), BLACKENED REDFISH (with a lobster beurre blanc and golden corn maque choux) and DUCK AL’ORANGE (crispy skin duck breast al’Orange with Bourbon and honey-glazed local sweet potatoes, andouille sausage and wilted spinach) Currently guests can enjoy lunch Tuesday-Friday, 11:30am to 2:30pm and starting November 6th lunch will be served on Mondays. Dinner is offered nightly 5:30pm to 10pm. Reservations suggested—504.522.2467

Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse has been the recipient of multiple awards, including Best of Citysearch—2006, Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, Tom Horan’s—America’s Top 10 Steakhouses, and Playboy Magazine’s Top 12 Steakhouses in America.
