Restaurant Named for its “Power Tables”
NEW ORLEANS, LA – August, 22, 2007 – The World’s leading business publication, Wall Street Journal featured Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse in its August 18, 2007 edition. The article titled “Power Tables” is a weekly column in the “Pursuits” section featuring national and international restaurants that are known to host influential business leaders.
The article opener states: “Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse popular with Big Easy movers and shakers since 1998 was flooded with three feet of water and suffered $2.3 million in damage when Hurricane Katrina hit…The restaurant underwent a major reconstruction that was completed in April 2006. Low tourism has meant that the area’s restaurant scene is “still not was it was”…But locals – VIPs and otherwise – continue to fill the refurbished dining room.
Recent sightings are mentioned including Donald Powell, federal coordinator for Gulf Coast rebuilding and a former FDIC chairman; former New Orleans Saints quarterback Archie Manning and his wife Olivia as well as Louisiana Governor, Kathleen Babineaux Blanco and her husband, Raymond. Noted regulars include Richard Adkerson, CEO of Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold; Rod West, president and CEO of Entergy New Orleans; George Shinn, Hornets owner; Allen Toussaint, R&B singer and pianist and Mel Lagarde, CEO of the Delta Division at hospital operator HCA.
“All positive publicity for us and our city is welcomed with open arms. Having a publication as well respected as Wall Street Journal, recognize Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse is truly an honor,” commented Dickie Brennan. “Each time we get national exposure of this caliber, we see out-of-town guests dining with us because they saw the article. It helps draw people to New Orleans and reminds locals to come see us” added managing partner, Steve Pettus.
The article mentions a complete reconstruction before re-opening in April of 2006, but guests have to look closely to find changes to the restaurant interior or its menu. Under the leadership of Chef Jack Martinez, signature favorites like the Tomato-Bleu Cheese Napoleon, classic New Orleans Turtle Soup and the ever popular House Filet (with creamed spinach and Pontalba potatoes, topped with masa flash fried oysters and finished with béarnaise) draw discerning diners time after time.
An expanded lunch menu has been created to offer guests a greater breadth of choices including a 2-course Prix-fixe menu with the choice of soup or salad. Entrées include GRILLED PRIME BEEF & LOUISIANA SHRIMP KABOB, BLACKENED REDFISH (with a lobster beurre blanc and golden corn maque choux) and BARBECUE SHRIMP (sautéed with garlic and Abita beer). Guests can enjoy lunch Monday-Friday, 11:30am to 2:30pm and dinner nightly 5:30pm to 10pm. Reservations suggested—504.522.2467
